DESCRIPTION:This is the class required to obtain a Texas License to Carry a
  Handgun.  The minimum age for this license has recently been lowered to
  18 (was previously 21 with a couple of exceptions).  The class fee is $8
 0.  You can pay via PayPal from this website or pay cash at the class.

 As of Sept. 1\, 2021\, it is no longer necessary to have a LTC 
 to legally carry a handgun\, unless you are disqualified pursuant to Texas
  law.  However\, there are several good reasons to obtain and renew LTCs\
 , including a larger range of places you can carry (that are still prohibi
 ted under the \"Permitless Carry\" rules)\, the ability to carry your self
 -defense handgun in numerous other states\, and the ability to bypass the 
 FBI background check when purchasing a firearm from a firearms dealer.  A
 dditionally\, by taking this class you will be informed on all laws that p
 ertain to legally carrying a handgun in Texas.
 This class is NOT for \"f
 irst-time shooters.\"  You must have fired a handgun before and be able t
 o show proficiency during the course.  Once registered\, you will receive
  a system-generated email with class details and an attachment with all pe
 rtinent laws.  The attachment is for reference only\, I will cover all pe
 rtinent laws/regulations during the class - no need to read it cover to co
 ver before class.
 You must provide your own firearm (.22 cal or larger) 
 or share with friend/spouse.  If you have fired a handgun in the military
  within the past 10 years\, you are not required to show proficiency durin
 g this class.  You will just need to provide documentation supporting you
 r claim when applying for your license from TX DPS.
 Other required items
 : 50 rounds of ammo minimum\, eye/ear protection (prescription glasses or
  sunglasses are adequate)\, hat with visor\, close-toed shoes\, shirt that
  can be closed up (to prevent brass from going down your shirt).     

  Class takes place at the Camp Bullis Outdoor Recreation Center (aka Spo
 rtsman's Club).  A link to a map will be provided but it also \"Googles\"
  effectively.  Firearms must be unloaded and out of arm's reach when trav
 elling on Camp Bullis.  No need to declare that you have a firearm to t
 he Gate Guard.
 At the end of the class\, I will provide you the required
  certificate in order to apply for your license from TX DPS.
